Far from home: Glastonbury antique Show, a History walk on grass

Donna Ellis, UConn’s Department of plants and landscape architecture, was the guest speaker at West Hartford Garden Club meeting on January 5. Ellis discusses the non-native invasive plants, how can we identify them, the control options available and alternative suggestions. Ring in the new year at Glastonbury antiques

Windsor Historical Society is looking for volunteers for the sixth annual home tour in April. If interested, kick-off planning meeting will be held January 12 at 5: 30 pm in the community, to review the tasks that are associated with the event. Pizza and salads will be presented. Friends of Elizabeth Park annual garden Lecture Series begins January 18 at 7 PM at the pond House Hall, Elizabeth Park, 1555 Asylum Ave., West Hartford. The series runs through March Wenesdays (no College 1 February 22 and March 14). The cost for all lecture 8, including dinner buffet with a last lecture, March 28, is $ 85.
