Donna Ellis, UConn’s Department of plants and landscape architecture, was the guest speaker at West Hartford Garden Club meeting on January 5. Ellis discusses the non-native invasive plants, how can we identify them, the control options available and alternative suggestions. Friends of Elizabeth Park annual garden Lecture Series begins January 18 at 7 PM at the pond House Hall, Elizabeth Park, 1555 Asylum Ave., West Hartford. The series runs through March Wenesdays (no College 1 February 22 and March 14). The cost for all lecture 8, including dinner buffet with a last lecture, March 28, is $ 85.
